First Preference Employment-based Petitions for Aliens of Extraordinary Ability and Second Preference Employment-based Petitions for National Interest Waivers are not sponsored by Texas A&M - Corpus Christi. These filings are known as “self-petitions” and do not require employer sponsorship. The University, at its discretion, may provide a letter to verify employment and/or to support the employee’s petition. The employee is responsible for the expenses associated with the processing of the above-referenced petitions.
Adjustment of Status (AOS)
Employees seeking AOS after being approved for an employer-sponsored or a self-sponsored immigrant petition are responsible for all expenses associated with the AOS process including application filing fees, fees for photos and medical examination and related travel expenses.
