Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi values its most important asset, its people. In support of the University’s mission, Human Resources partners with leadership to provide a competitive total compensation program, which includes pay, benefits, recognition programs, and employee development.
The University strives to provide compensation for staff that is both externally competitive with the relevant market and internally aligned with individuals who have similar responsibilities, demonstrated competencies and experience.
Human Resources analyzes information in support of recommendations for individual salary adjustments and facilitates adjustments in pay level for all non-faculty employees, including: merit increases, promotion, career advancement, and other salary adjustments. Every staff position at TAMUCC has a position description which includes its formal job title, department, primary purpose, essential functions, and minimum qualifications.
Human Resources coordinates position review and classification matters, including establishing new positions and reviewing existing positions for appropriate placement within the pay plan. In the classification process, a position description is prepared by a departmental lead, reviewed by administrators, and submitted to HR where it is associated with a formal job classification. The exemption status under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act is also evaluated during the classification process.
All position descriptions are maintained in the Islander Jobs online system.
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi does not discriminate in making pay decisions based on race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, sexual orientation or gender identity.
Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is an at-will employer. The University or the employee can terminate the employment relationship at any time or for any cause that is compliant with federal and state law.
