The A&M System is aware of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals issuance of an injunction in regard to the implementation of the Fair Labor Standards Act revisions which were scheduled to go into place effective December 1st. Employees who were to be classified as nonexempt due to the new salary threshold will remain exempt. Salary increases that were submitted and approved in conjunction with the FLSA change will still be implemented.
EMPLOYEE TUITION FOR BETTERMENT PROGRAM
This Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 the Employee Betterment Program will cover 100% of tuition at TAMUCC. This program is available to employees who have been in a budgeted regular status for three months prior to the start of classes. Standard fees are waived; consequently, EBP participants will not have access to student services funded by the waived fees. The EBP will cover 50% of the Distance Education Fee but employees are responsible for other applicable course fees (e.g. Lab Fees, Field Trip Fees, etc.).
