Human Resources News

SYSTEM-WIDE PAY PLAN IMPLEMENTATION

Texas A&M System is implementing a new System-Wide Pay Plan, effective December 1, 2016.  We are aware there are technical issues with incorrect job titles showing up in Single Sign On, TimeTraq not being available, and/or LeaveTraq not allowing time off to be entered.  Employees are advised to write down all hours worked if unable to enter hours online in to TimeTraq.

We are working with System to correct all errors and are confident all issues will be corrected by Monday, December 5th.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.  Please contact Human Resources with any questions:  human.resources@tamucc.edu; ext. 2630.

FLSA UPDATE

The A&M System is aware of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals issuance of an injunction in regard to the implementation of the Fair Labor Standards Act revisions which were scheduled to go into place effective December 1st.  Employees who were to be classified as nonexempt due to the new salary threshold will remain exempt.  Salary increases that were submitted and approved in conjunction with the FLSA change will still be implemented.

General Q&A and Training Schedule

Employee Tuition Covered at 100%: This Fall 2016 and Spring 2017 the Employee Betterment Program will cover 100% of tuition at TAMUCC. This program is available to employees who have been in a budgeted regular status for three months prior to the start of classes. Standard fees are waived; consequently, EBP participants will not have access to student services funded by the waived fees. The EBP will cover 50% of the Distance Education Fee but employees are responsible for other applicable course fees (e.g. Lab Fees, Field Trip Fees, etc.). Coursework must be directly related to the employee’s job or required for the completion of a degree.  For additional Employee Betterment Program requirements and the EBP Form, visit our website.
